The gas used in lighters is mainly combustible gas. The original lighters came from flint igniters. After pressurization, it is filled into the air storage tank. Once released into the air, it absorbs heat, vaporizes and expands rapidly, and is easy to catch fire.

The main components of the lighter are ignition mechanism and air tank. When the ignition mechanism is activated, sparks shoot into the gas area to ignite the gas. Ignition mechanism is not only the most active part in the evolution of lighter, but also the part with complex structure. According to the characteristics of ignition mechanism, lighters can be divided into 6 categories: flint wheel lighters, piezoelectric ceramic lighters, magnetic induction lighters, battery lighters, solar lighters and microcomputer lighters. The ignition process of their fuel is roughly the same, and the main difference lies in how the ignition mechanism ignites.
If it is not a particularly inferior lighter, it will not explode, and the pressure of the inflatable tank shall not exceed the bearing pressure of the qualified lighter. In addition, household disposable lighters should not be placed in high-temperature places, especially in cars exposed in summer. High temperature will cause the lighter to explode. The iron can has certain impact resistance. If they go beyond this range, they will explode. The reason may be sparks caused by collision, explosion caused by excessive internal pressure, etc. if it falls with a particularly large force, it may explode.
